IFRS 9 covers a variety of topics on accounting for financial instruments including classification and measurement, impairment, derivatives, hedging, and derecognition. This course will focus on the classification and measurement of financial instruments. Classification is the key driver of subsequent measurement which may be an amortized cost model, fair value through other comprehensive income model, or a fair value through profit or loss model. Classification also differs among types of financial instruments. Therefore, proper classification is critical to ensure proper measurement accounting for financial instruments! This CPE-eligible eLearning course (1.5 CPE) is a must for those who prepare or audit financial statements containing financial instruments accounted for under IFRS 9.
