Training with Deb is like music to your ears!
Creativity and precision are at the heart of Deb’s work — whether she’s playing a piano sonata or teaching the nuanced differences between U.S. GAAP and IFRS. Deb’s career began at two of the Big 4 accounting firms, before a “quick” project in Switzerland led to 15 years overseas. While working in Europe, she gained wide experience, from Chief Accounting Officer at an international insurance company to Head of Investor Relations for a global insurance group.
Deb is a U.S. CPA and knows the challenges of applying U.S. GAAP or IFRS accounting standards within a multinational corporation — and how to communicate those challenges to the capital markets, making sure that all executives are singing from the same song sheet! She applies this expertise to facilitate U.S. GAAP and IFRS training for GAAP Dynamics and also serves as a non-executive director for several U.S. insurance boards and audit committees of a global insurance company. Her regular exposure to the business world keeps her teaching relevant and right on target.
When she’s not in accountant mode, Deb loves spending time with her husband Brian, who also facilitates training for GAAP Dynamics. She is an avid runner, which she feels compelled to do in order to continue to enjoy her husband’s wonderful cooking! Deb relaxes by playing the piano or leading her church choir in a Christmas cantata. She loves playing golf and is learning the art of fishing or at least her version of it: reading a good book while looking like you’re fishing!
