We’re excited to introduce another one of our new team members, Madi English! Along with Sarah, Madi joined us in July as a Digital Marketing and Learning Specialist (DMLS). Since starting at GAAP Dynamics, Madi has jumped right into eLearning programming, producing outstanding work on several projects, both internal and for clients. Madi is excited to dive deeper into the marketing side of the role, particularly to add value to our social media platforms, especially YouTube.
Take a look at Madi’s interview below to learn more about her career experience and what she’s looking forward to since joining the GAAP D team!
1. What has your career path been like and why did you choose GAAP Dynamics?
Shortly after graduating from JMU, I jumped straight into event planning within the pharmaceutical industry. In my role as a program manager, I coordinated all logistics for both live and virtual patient education programs. Whether I was selecting program dates, choosing speakers, or deciding on the best venue to fit within budget, I was in charge of ensuring all of the details were buttoned up to ensure a flawless program.
What I enjoyed most about this role was helping others. The goal of every program was to educate and bring together those struggling with rare illnesses. I connected so many different people and learned so much in the process. That is what really attracted me to GAAP Dynamics. I was really drawn to the idea of continuing to help educate and create this sense of community in a fun, creative way through their digital learning solutions. I could also see this similar “helping others” attitude throughout GAAP Dynamics – both within the internal team and for their clients. That’s inevitably what made me choose GAAP Dynamics.
2. What are some highlights of your career thus far?
With my career in event planning, I really got to see parts of the U.S. for our live programs that I otherwise would never have been able to see. I was able to travel to California, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Minnesota, Georgia, and quite a few others. As a huge Bachelor Franchise fan, I fan-girled when one of the previous Bachelorette contestants, Hannah Brown, was on one of the flights I was on for work!
When COVID-19 hit, we had to adapt very quickly to meet the needs of our clients. Within a month, we went from in-person programs that took at least 8 weeks to plan, to virtual programs that needed to be planned in less than 2 weeks. I learned flexibility truly is key when it comes to client services.
3. What has been your favorite thing you have done since joining GAAP Dynamics?
I would say the programming. It is really cool to be able to build something from start to finish that will eventually help someone get their CPE certification!
4. What are you looking forward to working on as a member of the DMLS team?
I’m most excited to get involved with the marketing side of GAAP Dynamics. The world of marketing is always changing and evolving and I am looking forward to being a part of how GAAP Dynamics changes with it. Within the DMLS position, I’m thrilled to help create engaging and interactive content that helps our learners learn best.
5. What are some fun facts about you?
- My childhood dream job was to be Shania Twain
- My favorite movie is Grease
- I have a Pinterest board dedicated to farm animals
- My favorite dish to make is the Swedish meatballs from Ikea
We were lucky to have two wonderful additions to the DMLS team this past summer, and we’re looking forward to further growth. Madi – we are so excited to have you join us! Thank you for all you have helped the team achieve thus far!
