What’s the Cost of Tailored Accounting Webinars?

Over the past 18 months, we’ve had nearly 10,000 people attend our webinars and based on participant feedback, they consistently rate them 4.8 (or higher) out of 5. Not too shabby! These webinars have included:

Obviously, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced companies and firms to look to virtual training options, including webinars, to satisfy their training requirements. And, although I hope to get back to facilitating live, in-person training once the pandemic is over, I do think that webinars are here to stay. Why? Well, for starters, they’re a cost-effective way to get training to a geographically dispersed workforce. Additionally, they offer the ability to provide training that is “just in time,” delivered at the learners’ moment of need. And finally, they can easily be recorded, with the recording put on your learning management system (LMS) for viewing by those unable to attend the live session.

But what’s the cost of tailored accounting webinars?

In a previous post, we discussed what is included in the cost of eLearning. In this post, we’ll discuss the cost for GAAP Dynamics to develop and facilitate a tailored accounting webinar for your organization or firm.

Generally, we charge $5,000 to facilitate a tailored accounting webinar lasting 75-90 minutes (1.5 CPE credits). This fee would be slightly higher for longer webinars and those requiring additional tailoring or customization for your organization. Also, if you have hundreds of people all needing CPE, we’d have to charge a bit more related to the administration of issuing the CPE certificates. However, we’ll always give you a fixed fee quote provided in our engagement letter before commencing development.

Our fee includes:

  • Developing training materials tailored to your organization
  • Facilitating the webinar with two instructors
  • Producing the webinar on our platform (GoToWebinar®)
  • Providing participants PDFs of the slides and solutions
  • Issuing CPE certificates

Want to get the price down even lower? We offer volume discounts for multiple webinars offered during the same calendar year. For example, if you engage us to facilitate four, 1.5-hour webinars during 2021, we could get the price down to just $4,000 per webinar ($16,000 in total). This is a perfect solution for those organizations wanting to implement a quarterly “lunch and learn” webinar series covering the accounting topics most relevant for their staff!

We utilize GoToWebinar® to produce the webinars in-house, which also allows us to offer a “simulated live” recording of each webinar for those participants unable to attend the live version (although, unfortunately, we cannot grant CPE for the recordings). We’re also comfortable with other platforms as well, in case you would rather use a platform that your professionals are familiar with.

We are certified with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) to provide continuing professional education (CPE) credit for Group Internet Based training offerings, meaning all of our webinars are eligible for CPE.

time, money, skill

We believe our webinars offer a great value for the money. Let’s take the previously mentioned quarterly webinar series offered to a hypothetical number of 50 participants. Each webinar is 1.5 CPE credits, giving each participant 6.0 CPE credits. The total cost of $16,000 equates to $320 per person, or $53.33 per CPE credit. That’s cheap, especially considering the content is 100% tailored to you! Obviously, these figures are cut in half if you have 100 people.

Plus, with our webinars you can expect:

  • Two instructors engaging in actual dialogue rather than just reading a script
  • A separate producer ensuring any technology issues are resolved promptly
  • Video to capture the important non-verbal communication used by instructors
  • Relevant case studies and examples highlighting specific application issues
  • Chat pods that encourage peer-to-peer learning and increase engagement
  • Polling questions, not just as “proof of life,” but to highlight learning gaps
  • Answers to questions from participants, either during the webinar or afterwards
