A leading regional Top 100 accounting firm based in Atlanta has long been dedicated to providing strategic business guidance and solutions through professional tax, audit, advisory, and business process outsourcing services. While they had occasionally relied on training from associations and alliances, most of their professional development had been conducted in-house, although it was very ad-hoc without much structure. However, after the pandemic, the firm sought to formalize its training approach leading to the creation of structured onsite boot camps tailored to specific industries, methodologies, and technical topics.

One of their biggest challenges quickly became the “heavy lifting” of creating technical training from scratch. They realized it takes a ton of time to create custom training! Plus, gathering subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide the necessary technical knowledge proved difficult, with efforts often fragmented and inconsistent. Initially, the firm explored bringing on a training partner to support their weekly post-busy-season boot camps, beginning with the idea of quarterly lunch-and-learns delivered via webinars or live, classroom sessions. Our solution

Collaborating closely with this top 100 accounting firm leadership and L&D team, we developed a tailored approach to integrating eLearning into their existing curriculum – one that provided professionals with the training they needed without requiring the purchase of entire course libraries. Instead of assigning full libraries to every individual, we introduced the concept of purchasing “seats” so they could fully realize our largest discounts.

A seat represents an individual enrollment in a course. To ensure the right level of training, we worked with team leaders to determine an appropriate number of courses per professional. On average, they estimated five courses per person across their 100 professionals. As a result, the firm purchased 500 individual seats, allowing for flexible distribution based on each employee’s skillset and training needs.

To further streamline the learning experience, we created a personalized page on our LMS, or what we call an Extended Enterprise Page, fully branded to the firm. This custom page on our platform provided seamless access to courses for learners while giving leadership visibility into training progress.
