More than an average training company – why I work for GAAP Dynamics

Over the past few weeks, our marketing team carved out some time to talk about our marketing strategies for the new year. We read some articles, conducted some sticky note exercises, and discussed our ideas for reaching our customers at length. As a relatively new member of the team, I was thrilled to be a part of this exercise, especially because we’re talking about a brand-new product (The Revolution) and we’re in the infancy stages of roll-out. I thought to myself, “The sky is the limit!” and “the possibilities are endless!”… and even, “If we do this right…we could be rich!”. (One of our promises to you in this blog is that we’re going to be genuine, so I’m just being honest…).

The result of our marketing meetings was that and so much more. Granted, we weren’t able to completely finish our marketing plan as we originally hoped, but we were able to have some extremely valuable and deep conversations about who we are as a company, what we aim to achieve for our customers, and how we plan to impact the accounting industry as a whole.

While I won’t share all of the details with you right now, I did want to share some of the highlights and “aha” moments with you so that you can have a better feel of who you’re working with! These are our promises to our clients:

  1. We sincerely care about helping other people learn.

I know that this is one of those “nice” things to say, but we really do mean it. There’s nothing better than witnessing the moment when a new concept *clicks* with a learner. We’ve all experienced a mentor or manager who took the time to teach us something new and it changed the trajectory of our career. We want to pay it forward.

  1. We aim to create training that actually teaches you something.

Our content designers are CPAs, many of whom came from Big 4 accounting firms. They’ve been on both sides of the table, so they know what it’s like as a participant to sit through an uninspiring slide deck or to be a teacher and see the dreaded blank stare. We never want to fall in the “check the box” category. That’s why we’re always using realistic examples, interactive exercises, and custom videos that are as entertaining as they are informative.

  1. We love spending time with our family and friends.

You might be thinking, “Well, that’s nice, but what does it have to do with me?”. We like to think that is has everything to do with you. We know that you also have a life outside of work that’s filled with family and friends. That’s why it’s important to us to get it right the first time and maximize the time that we spend with you as a learner. We strive to make our learning “sticky” and accessible. And if the perfect time to complete a training is during your lunch break, we can do that! Or if it’s at 9 PM, we can do that too (preferably via our online training).

There are plenty of other companies out there that offer accounting training. Many of them probably have these same passions. But for whatever reason, we feel like we’ve got the special sauce. These three promises are deeply rooted in our team DNA and are the reason why we come to work excited each day.

In that light, we promise to keep giving you quality content – whether that be at your next on-site training event, during an online course on The Revolution, virtually in one of our webinars, or via our weekly blog posts. We hope that you’ll let us know if there’s any way that we can be a part of your learning journey.

And if you’re at the AICPA Conference this week, come by and see us! We have some fun give-aways and would love to put a name with a face.
